Orioles Bike Cage is once again running our women's nights at the shop every other Thursday. These nights are for bike repair and learning specifically for women, trans, and femme people seeking a safer place for mechanical assistance. Always check our schedule below for changes and planned events.
Annual Bike Bazaar
Our annual Bike Bazaar, in partnership with The WRENCH, is booked for Saturday, June 27 @ 11 am!
If you're unfamiliar with this event, it is primarily for kids to trade in their existing bikes that they've outgrown and they receive a bigger one for free. A parent must be with their child in order for a bike to be provided. We will also have adult bikes for sale and we will have bike mechanics available to assist customers with repairs.

We're Open
The Orioles Bike Cage is a program of the Valour Community Centre founded in 2009. We're located at 448 Burnell St. (in the shack behind the wading pool) in a space graciously provided and funded by the City of Winnipeg, The Daniel McIntyre St. Matthews Community Association (DMSMCA) and the Valour Community Centre.
We are supported by WRENCH to keep up our stock of used parts.
What We Do
We're run by volunteers.
We use recycled bikes to support active transportation options in Winnipeg.
We teach people how to fix their bike.
If you come to the Bike Cage for a repair, we will guide you through the repair process, ensuring the tools stay in your hands.
We're skilled, but small.
We can fix most things, replace broken parts and teach you about proper bike maintenance, but we can't solve everything.

Orioles Bike Cage is an active resource centre in the West End, serving hundreds of cyclists each year through drop-in programming, donating bikes to the community and collaborating with other community organizations.
When volunteering with Orioles Bike Cage, you can expect to interact with the public, get a little dirty, and do a lot of learning!
Community
Through events, programs and networking, volunteers become part of the Winnipeg bike shop community. Build bikes alongside other volunteers at the Cycle of Giving, meet folks at the annual Bazaar, or socialize with your friends at one of our volunteer appreciation events (with free food!), the Pit Stop, the Ellice Street Festival, and more.

OBC hosts volunteer appreciation parties to celebrate the work you do for the community.
Skill Building
Do you want to learn how to fix your bike? Volunteering is the best way! Learn by doing. Other volunteers are around to guide you through your repairs, or the repairs of others.

Orioles Bike Cage operates as a 'by-donation' service. We ask those who benefit from our services to consider making a donation in return.
We gladly accept cash and in-kind donations.
A fantastic option is to donate your old bike. We recycle your
bicycles back into the community and we’ll take them in any
condition!
